Mr. Darshan Pai is a PhD candidate pursuing his degree in Computer Science at Wayne State University since Spring of 2005. He is a member of the Graphics and Imaging lab (GIL) under the supervision of Dr. Jing Hua. His interests are in Computer Graphics, Medical image analysis, geometric processing, diffusion tensors, integrative multimodality medical image visualization and 3D image processing. His research projects are actively used in the clinical setting at DMC and Michigan Childrens Hospital. He is an active software research collaborator for the Wayne State Systems Biology of Epilesy Project (SBEP) and is also affaliated with the Henry Ford Hospital pursuing research in DTI analysis of the brain. Recently he joined the Center for Visual Informatics and Intelligence (VII) as a research assistant.


Darshan received his MS from Wayne State University in Computer Engineeing specializing in Software Systems. He recived his BE degree in Electrical Engineering from Vivekanand Education Society's Institute of Technology in Bombay, India. Most of his research work is published in reputed IEEE Conferences and other major international conferences and medical journals. He has peer-reviwed many papers for various transaction journals and top teir conferences. He was awarded the Graduate Teaching Assistant Award for best instructor in 2008.


Mr. Pai other interests include playing pool and swimming. He is a space enthusiast and likes to read non-fiction specially related to space and astronomy. He loves to cook and enjoys long drives.
